The Stables Art Studio has moved!

The Stables Art Studio has relocated from Malvern East to the Prahran Mission premises at 211 Chapel St, Prahran. The studio is situated outside Hartley's community dining room, where artists have the opportunity to exhbit ther work on a monthly basis. For more information about the Stables click here.

Prahran Mission G.C.Grant Mental Health Library

The Mission's Mental Health Library is now up and running at it's new location at 211 Chapel St. The Library contains approximately 250 books and numberous journal articles and can be found on the 2nd floor, in the computer room. Click Here for more details and to view the catalogues.

Free Jeans Day

On Friday 29th June our friends at Volcom visited our Open House program to show their support of our work by bringing along more than 700 pairs of donated jeans for the homeless. People were welcome to come by for a free BBQ lunch and pick up some much needed jeans as well. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this event.

In June 2011 we celebrated our 65th Birthday with a fabulous 1940s Fashion Show, produced by the students of Whitehouse Institute of Design and inspired by Christian Dior, who also established his hosue of couture in 1946.

Prahran Mission on YouTube

The Prahran Mission rooftop played host to this sell-out event in November 2011. With over 150 people in attendance, the night proved that everything old is new again. The no-fuss ambience was complimented by live tunes, a BBQ good enough to ask for seconds and a stellar Melbourne sunset.

People shopped, socialized, drank (Doss out of brown paper bags, of course) and charged their beers to reinvention and lending a helping hand. The urban skyline was the perfect contrast to cosmopolitan shoppers sharpening their hunter-gatherer skills amid the racks of vintage treasures. The Op Shop Party left its mark on the Melbourne charity scene as an original and successful mix of eclectic people, music and clothing.

Prahran Mission 211 Chapel St Building Relaunch - November 2010

Our Emergency Relief Program is in urgent need of food vouchers and food items.

Each year Prahran Mssion distributes thousands of dollars worth of food and food vouchers to people in need. Food vouchers allow individuals to provide their families with fresh essentials such as milk, bread and fresh vegetables.

Currently our stocks are extremely low and we need your help; you can pre-purchase $30 or $60 charity food vouchers from the service counter of your local Woolworths or Coles and post to Prahran Mission, PO Box 68, PRAHRAN 3181 or drop off during business hours at 211 Chapel Street.

We are also very glad to accept blankets and sleeping bags, especially during the cold winter months.

Moving house or updating your lounge?

If you have any furniture to donate and live in the local area we may be able to pick it up and distribute it to people in need. Alternatively we can sell these items in our Goodwill Shops.
